Melissa + Sam = LOVE

L.O.V.E. That's the best word I can use to describe this couple. Melissa and Sam were in love even before the "high school sweethearts" days. They are adorable together- sweet and soft with each other, but with a sense of humor that made me laugh more than once during their session. They are the kind of couple that just belong. Their images are probably some of my favorites...not just because the lighting was perfect and the couple is gorgeous, but because I got to see such sweet l.o.v.e. through my lens. I'm so excited to see what God will do with their future together!

I'm not sure what to say about this family, other than that I LOVE THEM! Andy is my husband Tim's brother, which means I have the privilege of being related to Andy, Sarah, and best of all- their newest sweetie, Ellianna! You might remember my adorable little niece from her newborn photos, and she is only getting cuter every day! Here's a small peek at some of my favorites from their Christmas card "mini-session"....can't you just feel the love?!

B Family Fun (Round Two!)

This is the second year in a row that I've had the fun of taking photos for this family....and I just love these people!! Aaron and Debbie are on staff at our church (redemption church in Gilbert...it rocks, just sayin') and they are both beautifully talented musicians. Their kids, Harrison and Makenna, are so sweet together...not to mention that they never cease to crack me up! I'm so excited to watch them change and grow every year. Thanks again, B family...can't wait for next year!!

I also have to give a quick shout out to my sweet friend, Nan, for loaning me these amazing chairs and wreath!! I wish I could just go furniture shopping in her house. Thanks, Nan, for helping me give the B fam some stylish memories!

The Sweet K Family

Ruth and Matt, in LOVE!!

I've known Ruth since high school (although I won't say exactly how much younger she is than me! Ha!) so it was especially fun to hear from her that she is getting married! She and Matt are so cute together and it's obvious they are a perfect fit. Not only are they in love, but they are best friends...the perfect recipe for marriage! I'm so excited to celebrate their wedding day with them in March 2012. Congratulations, Ruth and Matt!

I always love a "Mommy date" with my good friend, Lauren, but this time I couldn't get away without snapping a few photos of her adorable baby girl, Vera Grace! And seriously...can you blame me? Those big blue eyes stole the show, and as they say on Top Model, "the camera loves her!" So here she is-- 6 months worth of adorableness caught on camera....

The New Mr. and Mrs.

Eva and Bo had such a beautiful Sedona wedding on October 15, 2011. They were married at the gorgeous Tlaquepaque Chapel, surrounded by their families and closest friends. The weather was perfect, the bride looked beautiful, the venue was picturesque and the groom...well, the groom was in L.O.V.E.!!! It was such a privilege to see the two of them together, so excited to be starting a new life as Mr. and Mrs. Thanks, Eva and Bo, for allowing me to share in your day. I'm so looking forward to seeing how God blesses your future!

I know it's dumb, but I couldn't resist. Meet the Good family....extended!! I have known this family for years...I was at "Mr. and Mrs." Good's house back in the "slumber party" days of sixth grade. Not only did they successfully raise SEVEN kids, but now they have kids-in-law and LOTS of grandkids! But the best part is that this family was raised to know Christ, and God is continuing to bless them as they grow. It was so much fun (and of course a little challenging!) getting all 21 people together for photos, but what an encouragement to see God continually blessing their lives....

Even after 4 kids....still crazy! (or is it MORE crazy after 4 kids?!) Either way, I love it!

Meet: Baby Andrew (and his beautiful fam)...

I have known this adorable family for a few years now...since the "before marriage, before kids, before any responsibility" phase of life. And of course, how things change! It was so much fun seeing Brad and Holli again and meeting their two sweet babies. Little Andrew was less than two weeks old and was of course the "star" of the session...but with two parents and a sister just as gorgeous as he is, I couldn't resist snapping some shots of them as well! Congratulations, Brad and Holli, on TWO beautiful kiddos! It's exciting to watch your family grow!

The Adorable Bre

Bre is an absolute doll...a fact made obvious within about 3 seconds of meeting her. She is a senior at Xavier in Phoenix and a track and field superstar! I had a blast hanging out with Bre and her sweet momma and sister for a few hours in downtown Tempe- laughing, drinking coffee (Bre is a java chip frap kinda girl!), and of course getting our "Tyra" on! She made my job easy. Congrats to Bre and the class of 2012!!!

Kirk + Whitney= LOVE

I've only known Whitney for a short time, but I can honestly say I don't know if I've met another person so sweet and cheerful as this girl. She is just pure sunshine. And when she is with her hubby, Kirk, she glows even more. As a photographer I can direct poses and control light, but the sweetness and purity of real love can't ever be forced. It's just there. And this couple has it in spades.

Thanks Kirk and Whitney, for loving Jesus above all else, for loving each other with such simplicity, and for allowing me the privilege to see so much love through my lens....

What do I even start to say about this girl? That she is one of my best friends isn't really enough. That we have been friends since the awkward age of 12 won't work either. She is simply one of my favorite people in this world, and her friendship over the years has helped shape my life. Ever since we were 13, we've loved to play with our cameras and busted out our "top model" poses whenever we had the chance! Well, some things never change. Now that both of us are in the photography business, our "playing" has gotten much more complicated...and much more fun! Amidst dSLRs, softboxes, reflectors, diffusers, and all, we both still have just a simple love of the camera and the amazing things it can do. It was so fun to spend time with Heather in the HH Art and Photography studio, "playing" with all of the things we love most!

No modeling session is complete without some beauty shots...and I'm a little obsessed with these.

Introducing...BRODY JAMES!!

You might recognize this gorgeous couple from many (many) past sessions. I can't help it- my camera just never gets sick of Jon and Erica...they are too beautiful! And now, they have welcomed their first baby into this world...the absolutely adorable, Brody James. Not only is this kid destined to be gorgeous (look at his parents!) but he is so sweet and cuddly. Plus, I can't help but l.o.v.e his full head of hair! It was so fun to once again photograph Jon and Erica...I'm so excited to watch their family grow.

Jason, Michelle and I went to high school together. They were one of those couples who never dated "back then" and ended up falling in love years later. That seemed to happen a lot at our small Christian school.....even to me and my own cute hubby, Tim! It was so much fun to hang out with them the other night and to meet their sweet little guy, Eddie. What a good baby he is.....and SO in love with his momma. It makes my heart smile every time I see a family so in love with each other, and my heart was smiling A LOT while photographing these guys. Thanks, M family, for allowing me to simply follow you around with my camera and capture so many of your sweet moments!

This beautiful baby girl just so happens to be my newest niece! Isn't she the sweetest?!? Her parents have waited such a long time for this little girl, and the amount of love they have for her is breathtaking to see. I was pregnant with my second son right along with my sister-in-law Sarah, which made pregnancy (and all of the pregnancy adventures) even more special! I'm SO thankful to be part of this long anticipated time...and already a very proud auntie!

Well, here we go again!! The first few months of my new business have been such a learning experience for me! They've brought so many changes, sometimes it seems like my head is constantly spinning! Ha! I still have a LONG way to go, but am so excited for the future of Kayce Smith Photography! This business has already been such a gift from God and I can't believe all the amazing people He's brought into my life through it. Can't wait to see what He does next!
